I have 2 recurves are they both traditional?

One is a 1973 A handle, magnisium riser, Bear custum takedown.
The other is an Excalibur crossbow.

The both have recurve limbs.
Crossbows have been around for 100,s of years longer than Compound bows.
What makes a bow traditional anyway?
