I have been working on putting together a book on my dads family for some time now. I am just about finished with it and will be giving it out to the family for Christmas. Its almost like treasure hunting, you spend hours looking and when you find one little clue it can open up so much information. I posted this on face book but thought I would post it here for you guys that don’t do face book. Diann and I went down to Mississippi yesterday looking around cemeteries. I found a few family members but this is the one I was looking for. This is my Great-Great Grandfather.

My grandfather did it for decades. He was born in 1897 so he was able to track it a long way back. Very interesting stuff.

My Grandmother did it and my aunt has continued it. The books will be passed on to me. The neatest picture is on of my relatives who was in the cavalery in the civil war..he is pictured with his saber in one hand and his pistol in the other. He didn't make it though. There is another picture of a relative who ended up in Andersonville. There is a ton a history...even one I think it may be my great grandfather with a 23 pt 300 lb maine buck

If he died during the war, I guess that would be the right one.

I think it is for a flag. I did tell Diann when I saw it that it was a air hole, and she said nu-ah. He did not die in the war he died in 1925. The story is that him and his two brothers wanted to join but one brother was to young. They told him to go and join in Tennessee because they would take him, so he joined and fought for Tennessee.
